Hurray! Fall is officially making its way towards us. Before you know it, it will be time to wear one of fall’s most sought-out accessory—a scarf! I know I’m looking forward to pulling out all of my favorite fall scarves from my closet. The endless options in colors, textures, patterns, and sizes provide a great deal of outfit possibilities.
Here are some of my favorite scarves picked from Custard Boutique and a few tips on how to style them to create the perfect outfit for class, at the office, or even for running errands around town.
If you don’t have much time to devote to your morning routine, here’s one way to spice things up with a scarf. Take a simple, effortless ensemble like a button-down and a pair of skinny jeans and dress it up with a bold-print, fringed scarf for a bohemian feel. Feel free to play around with a fringe scarf (like the one pictured) and tie it around your neck or let it dangled around your shoulders. It’s all about having fun and letting your personal creativity shine.
For those of you who have to dress up for work, I have a special treat for you. Office wear doesn’t have to be boring.
One way to add flare to your basic black piece of office wear is to add a pop of color. Take a blanket jersey-knit scarf (like the one pictured below) and tie a belt around your waistline to create an illusion that you are wearing a dressy top.
Blanket scarves are a great way to add a popular trend this season into your work look, and the outfit transitions perfectly for happy hour or a dinner out.
And lastly, one of my favorite scarf trends that will never go out of style is the classic plaid scarf.
You can never go wrong with a classic piece. A plaid scarf (like the one pictured below) adds an element of fun to a simple outfit like a monochromatic dress and jean jacket, and pairs well with casual and trendy outfits alike.
So next time you are running errands around town, don’t be afraid to go for a classic look–just remember to give it your own twist!
