Today we’re taking you behind the scenes of our spring fashion shoot, Bloom! The idea for the shoot was inspired by the transitional nature of spring–how everything is bare and minimal, and then flowers burst forth seemingly overnight, sending the world into a riot of color and fragrance.
Stylist Carol Jensky incorporated floral prints with peachy and grey tones to bring this concept to life. Mixing vintage finds with contemporary pieces, she created a cohesive, yet multi-faceted, vision that spanned six looks. We especially loved the cover dress, from Harper, a structured midi-length piece, that fit the theme perfectly.
Colonial House of Flowers made custom pieces for the shoot, including a moss and flower wall, and, of course, that CHAIR. From the top of the flower wall to the bottom of the chair, they arranged the flowers to create an ombre effect. We were completely blown away!
Hair and make-up artist Megan Mateo created a romantic, yet natural, springtime reminiscent of the youthful blush of spring and did the model’s hair in natural, loose waves that transitioned to a soft braid.
We hope you enjoy these behind-the-scenes peeks! To see the full shoot, order our spring issue now.
