Lately I’ve been finding myself talking about one particular beauty product that is essential to my routine. Even though the smell can cause your eyes to water and tighten your jaw, but I can’t go without Apple Cider Vinegar! If I do go without it, my skin tells on me. Battling eczema on my face, dry patchy skin and cystic acne are real issues for me if I skip days. ACV balances your PH levels and softens your skin, in addition to a ton of other impressive things it can do like pulling toxins out of your system. It’s one of the very best things you can do for your skin and body. It’s magical but the smell and strong taste can be a huge turnoff. How can something be so good and so bad – the struggle is real, y’all.
After having this conversation over and over, I decided to challenge myself to find a way to change my negative feelings towards ACV for this month’s blog. I’ve been mixing it with local honey for years but found the missing key was ginger ale! So here’s a little recipe to try and feel free to change it based on your tastes or calorie count. I went with this ratio to still be able to drink it within a few minutes and not leave it unfinished. I’m in it for the full effect! With that being said, I’ve also added a recipe for my ACV toner.
Spicy Ginger Drink
- 1-2 tablespoons local honey (fight your allergies and sweeten your drink)
- 4oz of water
- 1oz or a shot glass full of ACV (it must contain the pulp called Mother)
- 4oz of ginger ale
Add water to honey. Stir to dilute. Add ACV and ginger ale. Serve over ice.
Apple Cider Vinegar Toner:
Mix 1 part ACV and 3 parts water in a small glass jar. Use less water depending on what feels comfortable to your skin. Use a cotton round to apply after cleansing. Only do one light pass across your face with the cotton round daily. This toner is favorite of Scarlett Johansson! The smell will only last a few minutes 😉
Till next time,
