With the back to school rush in full swing, I wanted to write about some tips on how to look your best. We were lucky enough to have lovely Leilah model for us with clothing provided by Red Clover right here in Savannah.
Use fashion as a way to express yourself. When you’re on a student budget, don’t feel like you need to follow each trend or buy a new item every week. Instead, create your own style by layering and mixing and matching the pieces you already own.
Often you’ll be rushing to get ready in the morning before class. When you only have 20 – 30 minutes after rolling out of bed, throw on a simple dress. For a funkier look, add some boots. Bonus: this doubles as a super stylish outfit for a night out with friends!
Before going back to school, go through your wardrobe and purge items that you aren’t wearing. You don’t want to take a lot of unnecessary items with you and your style might evolve as you meet new people and learn new things. Also, keep your clothes organized as you will likely have limited space. That way, you’ll be able to get to the best of the best in your closet.
If you do want to do a little back to school shopping, check out your local boutiques first. They often have unique items at great prices. If you are shopping at some of the national stores, there are a ton that offer discounts for students. Think Madewell, ASOS, TopShop, J. Crew, Banana Republic and more.
Thanks so much to Red Clover + Leilah; these back to school looks are on point! For some behind the scenes shots, check out Paprika Southern’s Instagram @PaprikaSouthern as well as my own @karabettie.
