I was recently in one of my meditation rooms, aka my shower, waiting for the inspiration of what to write for my next beauty blog. A couple of ideas floated by as I washed my hair… dry skin relief, my beauty routine, a new product review… but it wasn’t until I was getting out that I thought – I should talk about ALL of that stuff! So back to the story…
The next step in my post shower routine isn’t drying off.
Before I grab a towel, I grab body oil. While my skin is still wet, I rub in a magical body nectar to push all of that water into my skin cells and seal the moisture into my pores with a coat of oil. It turns white and looks more like lotion. My eczema skin doesn’t itch and I also look like I have reptilian scales since making this a staple in my routine. Side note: if you don’t moisturize, things will happen to your skin – bad things. You will have dull, flaky skin, more wrinkles and acne, plus your makeup won’t look as great. Got it? Ok. Let’s proceed…
Picking the right oil is important.
I’ve used several kinds from coconut that had me leaving a trail behind because I seemed to keep using too much, to sesame oil that was so light and left me kinda ashy before I knew it. After mixing them I knew a blend was the way to go but I wanted an aromatherapy boost. Within moments of this thought, I saw that a post from my sweet friend Chelsea, the creator of Wildflower Gypsy, about her new body nectars. She mentioned they are the best for long-lasting hydration without feeling greasy available in 3 different botanical aromas. I took it as a God wink and reached out to her immediately. I mean seriously, who doesn’t want to knock out their dry skin and winter blues with one product?!
What makes it magical? Let’s break it down.
We’ll start with how beautiful they are. The 4oz glass bottles retail for $28 and come with a dropper for ease of use and they have dried flowers in them. All 3 scents have the same oil base of organic sunflower oil, apricot oil, sweet almond oil, organic jojoba oil and organic vitamin E, but they are completely different in smell and effects.
- Daydreamer is a blend of organic sweet orange and ylang ylang oils. The fresh, lively, bright and cheery scent is perfect for the day and compliment to my perfume or wear it alone. It also has tiny dried roses in it that I’m in love with.
- Peaceful Mama is a blend of organic lavender, sandalwood, and vanilla. The lavender is the right balance of rich without being overwhelming. At night, our bodies lose so much moisture, so this blend is perfect for your family’s bedtime routine. Include the kiddos, my almost 3 year old son loves it. The homegrown lavender stems in the bottle are from Chelsea’s father’s land in upstate NY.
- Sweet Savannah was created around Chelsea’s love of blooming jasmine in Savannah paired with Neroli. It’s sweet yet has a touch of earthiness that has made this one my husband’s favorite for body and beard. And there are dried jasmine buds adorning the bottle which are magical.
Let’s wrap it up.
