Oh, wow, y’all. As most of you know we at Paprika Southern don’t usually post (or do) engagement sessions, but this one is very special.
We were contacted by friend of Paprika Southern Lauren Davis when her friend Tyler wanted to propose to his girlfriend, Andresa, and have the engagement photographed. Since Andresa does modeling work, they came up with idea of setting up a pretend shoot with a magazine for her, bringing her in, and then having Tyler surprise her with an engagement ring!
We were beyond honored to be chosen to be a part of Tyler and Andresa’s special day. We chose the ballroom at Brockington Hall as the perfect location for a winter engagement, and got in touch with Andresa. We asked her to come in as the model for a fashion blog post featuring holiday party looks. One of our favorite Savannah boutiques, Harper, agreed to provide dresses for the shoot, and Colonial House of Flowers came on board to create a festive wreath. Things came together even more when Andresa asked if her sister, Mary Elaine, could be the makeup artist on the shoot–since we were worried Andresa might start crying when Tyler popped the question, having a makeup artist on the set who was in-the-know and could touch up any smudged makeup was an added bonus!
The plan went flawlessly–we broke the ice by shooting one dress on Andresa, and while she was changing, Mary Elaine brought Tyler inside to hide in the next room. Siobhan had me hold a reflector close to Andresa’s face to block her view as Tyler entered the room, and when I got out of the way, it was time for him to get down on one knee!
A huge congratulations to Tyler and Andresa! It was so special to play a part in their engagement story, and we wish them all the best.
