One Dress: Styled for Networking Event
Welcome to the new fashion blog with Paprika Southern! I am so excited to share some tips and tricks I use on a daily basis to help my clients gain confidence with their personal style choices. Starting out we’re chatting about making the most of what you already own. We chose one dress and challenged ourselves to be able to wear it for three different occasions: a networking event, brunch with our friends and date night. See how we did below!
We started with a classic white button down and comfortable black leggings under the dress and added some professional accessories.
Flats are great for networking events when you will likely be on your feet for a few hours. Shoes are a great way to express a little of your own style while still looking professional. Our work bag can go straight from the office to the networking event while holding all of our essentials.
Not only are these pockets adorable, but they make it so convenient to stash your phone or business cards.
One Dress: Styled for Brunch with Friends
Brunch with your friends is a great way to relax and your outfit can reflect exactly that. We took the same dress we used for networking and put together an outfit for a casual morning.
A jean jacket is a great staple to have in your wardrobe as it goes with so many different outfits and instantly gives your outfit a casual vibe. We threw one over this dress so we could sit comfortably outside for brunch with friends.
To go with our casual look, we added a day bag to fit all we the items we need (as we’re probably running errands before or after brunch!) Our sandals are in the same color tones as the rest of our outfit which make them the perfect addition.
We topped the outfit off with this long necklace for a pop of color. Adding just a few accessories, like this necklace, helps make your outfit look more thought out and put together.
One Dress: Styled for Date Night
For our third event we wanted to take this dress and elevate it for a night on the town.
One way we jazzed up this dress for date night was by adding a faux fur vest. Not only does this help keep us warm during a chilly night, but it also brings the whole look of the dress to a new level.
By belting the vest over the dress, we are able to maintain the shape of the dress.
We put on some of our fancy jewelry pieces, a small purse and a pair of heels. Done and done: date night!
The reason this dress worked so well to be styled for different events is because it is a neutral color and a classic shape. This allowed us to add many different layering pieces with it to change the way dress looked. Look for a dress similar in your closet: whether it’s black, brown or grey and try adding different layers over and under to see if you can wear your dress in more ways than you originally thought.
